The Safe House
We are aggressively working towards the establishment of a safe-house for the purpose of restoring women who have been caught and freed from commercial sexual exploitation.
Mission
The Safe House will provide a safe home for victims of commercial sexual exploitation where they can be restored and developed as physically, mentally, psychologically and spiritually healthy and happy individuals of society.
Goals
- To keep the person physically safe
- To keep the person well provided for
- To keep the person psychologically safe
- To instill hope in the individual
- To effect healing and restoration
- To facilitate the release of the person’s potentials
- To enable the person to realize their innate worth and worth to society
Implementation
The Safe House will utilize and incorporate psychological trauma therapy, counseling, medical intervention for physical/health problems, drug rehabilitation, and job skill training within a Christ-centered environment.
Psychological Trauma-therapy and Counseling
A team of professionally led counselors will be using a variety of methods to effect healing and restoration in the lives of the CSE (Commercial Sexual Exploitation) victims. These varied techniques include: Cognitive-behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy techniques, Crisis Intervention, Grief and Trauma Counseling, and Animal Assisted Therapy.
Medical Intervention
Often times the CSE victim has encountered multiple expressions of physical trauma along with psychological damage. A complete medical assessment will be done for the victim upon initial entry into the Safe House as well as continual evaluation of their physical condition.
Drug Rehabilitation
A high percentage of CSE victims are either forced or willingly turn to drugs as a means of relieving the emotional trauma of their lifestyle. The Safe House team will address these areas of drug addiction with faith-based solutions and methods used by international substance abuse organizations. The holistic focus of the Safe House to bring healing and restoration to these individuals in their spiritual, emotional, physical, social, and developmental lives, means helping the individual step away from life-controlling drug and alcohol addictions.
Job Skill Training
Specific attention will be given to each person in their development as productive individuals within society. The Safe House staff will place an emphasis on the individual’s natural gifts and talents and will work to empower those gifts through skill training and life guidance.
A Christ-Centered Environment
The Safe House will be founded on Biblical principles. Daily activities will be sourced in, sustained by, and lived unto the experience of God’s presence through worship, prayer, and Bible study. As a vital part of the healing process, opportunities will be given to encounter God’s love in group worship settings.
Physical Environment
Necessary security measures will be taken to ensure the safety of each person. The goal of the property’s design and layout is to be both functional for the above mentioned activities and to communicate God’s heart of love and value for each individual.
The property will feature:
- Adequate housing for both staff and recipients
- An aesthetic and food-producing garden
- A worship room for corporate gatherings and individual prayer
- A large industrial kitchen and dining hall
- Interior/Exterior designed to communicate God’s love
