The Sex Slave Trade

“The world is addicted to sex and this has led to a global trade in human lives for the purpose of fulfilling this addiction.”

The global sex slave trade has been increasing over the past 10 years and has now become one of the largest money-makers for criminals, presently taking place as the second largest criminal industry worldwide. Over the past few years, National Governments and NGO’s (Non-Governmental Organizations) have been trying to estimate the severity of Human Trafficking. There are a wide range of varying statistics out there but even if half of the numbers presented from the most conservative estimates were true, it would still place this problem as the largest human rights issue of our time.

• 800,000 are estimated to be trafficked across international borders each year.
• 80% of these people are females and 50% are minors
• The vast majority of these victims will be forced into prostitution, requiring them to service high numbers of clients a day.
• There are increasing demands for younger children in the sex slave trade.

The personal testimonies of those who were enslaved and escaped gives us even more clarity into the brutality of this system. Each story has a few differences but the overall picture is the same when looking at Trafficking in Western Europe. Young women who were either looking to make more money in a western nation, were vacationing in a western nation, or were traveling with a “boyfriend”, all had the same experiences. To their horror, in a matter of moments, they realize that they are now owned by someone else. Their will is broken through threats, rape, and violence and they are quickly assimilated into the sex trade. Many of these women work to adjust their souls to their experiences and they often reconcile with their miserable lives through drug addiction or they fall in love with their captors. However, many women will never reconcile with this enslavement and they are crying out and longing for a way out.

We believe the Lord has heard the cries of those enslaved and has seen their affliction and is answering by releasing a supernatural empowerment on His people to rescue those bound and to restore them to a place of wholeness. God has set Himself against the sex slave trade!
